Posted January 26, 2023. 1.6 petrol & diesel are totally different in terms of the belt change. 3-4 hours for 1.6 TDCI belt & pump sounds fine for an independent. (Especially when they're losing their parts markup lol.) I'd only expect under 3 hours for someone that's done many of these belts - main dealer or specific 'cambelt only' type shop.
Posted October 14, 2013 My focus is really lacking power and I noticed a new slight whine from (i think) the turbo. Not sure if its dirty or its on its way out but considering the type of damage you would get from a blown turbo I decided to purchase a refurbished unit from ebay for about 300 quid.
16.Check oil flow: a) Fit turbo, leave oil return pipe disconnected. B) Attach an extended oil return pipe and feed into a container. c) Start engine, idle for 60 seconds and switch off engine. d) Oil delivery should show at least 0.3 litres of oil. e) Repeat test to confirm flow is correct.
So brought another focus 1.8 tdci 115 bhp with low miles. In silver as this doesn't show the marks and looks clean from a distance when dirty I've had it serviced in October 2013 my friend does it as he works at fords he says the 1.8 tdci is the better engine.You can't beat the comfort and it's very pokey.
Fiesta 1.4 TDCI = 12.3seconds 0-60mph 78bhp 91 ft-lbs. Fiesta 1.6 TDCI = 11.2seconds 0-60mph 88bhp 150 ft-lbs (not exactly a hot-rod but a lot more torque than the 1.4, its unlikely you could increase the torque of the 1.4 from 91 to 150ft lbs (without serious/ expensive mods) dunno if its worth the hassle) I can't see a Bluefin available for
